Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Announces Schedules Changes for Upcoming Events

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (August 9, 2022)- The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series would like to announce some schedule changes and added an event as well to their remaining schedule for the 2022 racing season.

The Pete Abell Memorial event at Ponderosa Speedway that was lost to weather on August 5 will now take place on Friday September 2 and feature both the Northern and Southern divisions of the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series in an event that will now pay $10,000 to win. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will also be in competition at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday September 2 in a $1,500 to win contest.

The Lake Cumberland Classic presented by SPEDA at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY that was originally scheduled for Saturday October 1 will now move to Saturday October 22 and will feature the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series in a $10,000 to win event. The event originally scheduled for October 22 was at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN and that event, the Valvoline Tennessee Fall Nationals, has been removed from the schedule. A date for the Valvoline Tennessee Fall Nationals will be announced at a later date.

The two-day version of the Fall Classic will return to Ponderosa Speedway on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1. The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series will be featured both nights, with the Super Late Model competitors racing for $5,000 to win on Friday September 30, while both Northern and Southern division competitors will race for $10,000 to win on Saturday October 1. The October 1 event of the Fall Classic at Ponderosa Speedway will also serve as the season finale for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series competitors.
