Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will be sanctioned by DIRTcar Racing in 2023

SOMERSET, KY (April 3, 2023)—Officials with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series are pleased to announce that a partnership with DIRTcar Racing will see the sanctioning of all Late Model events under the DIRTcar banner in 2023.

All calendar events starting with the Southern Series opener on April 8 at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway and the Northern Series opener on April 21 at Ponderosa (Ky.) Speedway will by DIRTcar-sanctioned, allowing drivers on the Kentucky-based tour to compete for national and regional points plus the points funds already announced by the tour.

The growth of the series and reaching new drivers across the nation was a core value of the forefront of the decision to join DIRTcar this year. Drivers from locations in various regions will now have easier access to participating in Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model DIRTcar Series events, knowing they don’t have to make wholesale changes to their cars to conform to different rule packages. Drivers can run a DIRTcar race, World of Outlaws, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series, Hunt the Front, Comp Cams, MARS or any Eldora event and be on the same page on tires and rules packages.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series had taken note of Hoosier Racing Tire’s new universal Late Model compounds for 2023 allowing drivers from other surrounding series and tracks to compete and travel with not having to have but over 2-3 different compounds in their haulers to come run an event. The tire rule is set for the first two events since they are co-sanctioned with the Spring Nationals and XR Super Series respectively. Starting at the April 21 the tire rule will be set still allowing the older tires, a combination of the new tires and open fronts until such time where drivers have used their current inventory and have switched over to the new (NLMT) tires.

DIRTcar Memberships will be available starting at Tazewell Speedway on April 8. Members are eligible for extra driver insurance coverage and DIRTcar Racing can help facilitate information to the drivers. The Iron-Man Racing Series will be helping the 100 percent teams with membership costs.
