Iron-Man Racing Series Hall of Fame Classic Postponed at Ponderosa Speedway; Hall of Fame 40 at Lake Cumberland Speedway June 17 Still on as Scheduled

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (June 11, 2023)- Officials with Ponderosa Speedway and the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series and Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series have announced the postponement of the inaugural Hall of Fame Classic at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY that was scheduled for Friday June 16.

Track promoter Brandon Hardgrove has a family member that has an ongoing health issue that has worsened over the past week and medical specialists were consulted and an appointment for that individual was set for Friday June 16 and the family did not want to postpone the appointment until later so that doctors can attempt to diagnose and treat the ongoing issue.

With this race event now postponed, the Ponderosa Speedway Class of 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony will now take place at the track’s Pete Abell Memorial event at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday August 4 that will feature the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series racing for $7,500 to win.

The 4th Annual Hall of Fame 40 at Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday June 17 is scheduled to proceed as planned with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series scheduled to compete for $7,500 to win and $500 to start in a 40-lap main event. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will also be in action in a 20 lap, $1,500 to win/$150 to start feature event. The American All Star Crate Late Model Series will also be in competition, racing for $3,000 to win for Crate Late Models. Other divisions in action at Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday June 17 will be the track’s Super Stocks ($1,000 to win), Hobby Stocks ($500 to win), and Front Wheel Drive Mini-Stocks ($500 to win).
