Kyle Moore Claims Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Don and Hans Gross Memorial Win at Wayne County Speedway

ORRVILLE, OHIO (August 10, 2024)– The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels would make its only visit to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH on Saturday evening for the Don and Hans Gross Memorial event and Kyle Moore of Mansfield, OH would continue his dominance of Wayne County Speedway in 2024 and scored the $5,000 victory. It would be his tenth win of the season at the Orrville, OH track.

The win for the 33-year-old Moore would be his first career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels victory. The win would come aboard a Tye Twarog owned Longhorn Chassis with a Malcuit Race Engine providing the power. Moore’s entry sported a throwback wrap as a tribute to Leroy Hall and Rick Moore and his machine receives sponsorship from Kepling Flooring, Tye Twarog Performance, Midwest Paint, John’s Drain Service and Excavating, Joyride Transport, Smitley Towing, Wilson Family Realty, The Short Stop, Coffman Corvette, Coffman Composites, R.L. Bond Septic Service, Henthorn Golf Carts, House of Speed, K.B. Septic Service, Fat Belly BBQ, Tru-Form Race Products, Platinum Designs, and Brett Bee Transmissions.

The start of the Don and Hans Gross Memorial Valvoline A-Main would see outside polesitter Kyle Moore grab the initial race lead, with Caiden Black, Seth Daniels, Corey Conley, and Devin Shiels giving chase. The front five would remain the same until the first caution waved on lap four when Rob Anderzack would spin in turn four and that caution ended up resulting in a red flag for a medical emergency in the grandstand area. The restart would also see the caution wave as cars in the middle of the field got jumbled up coming back to the start, but everyone would be able to continue. The second attempted restart would not see a full lap completed as a four car tangle in turn four that included Rusty Schlenk, Ryan Missler, Rod Conley, and Jeff Babcock, with Conley and Babcock unable to continue. Once again finally resumed, Moore maintained the lead, with Black, Daniels and Conley remaining second through fourth, while Todd Brennan would challenge Shiels for fifth, with Shiels taking control of the position on lap seven. Moore would stretch his lead a bit at this point and would start working lapped traffic on lap fourteen and would encounter heavy traffic on lap eighteen, allowing Black and Daniels to close in on Moore. Moore would work the lapped traffic to perfection and would pull away again by lap twenty-five, with Brennan finally able to get fifth from Shiels on lap twenty-six. Moore would have a comfortable lead with ten laps remaining in the event, but Black, who had broke away from third-place Daniels, would begin reel in Moore and would close to within 0.148 seconds of the leader on lap thirty-seven. Black would see his mount push a bit in the center of turn three and four and the field got the two lap to go signal and this would give Moore the breathing room his needed over the final two circuits to secure the victory. Black would settle for second, with Daniels taking third. Corey Conley would finish fourth, with Shiels reclaiming the fifth position at the end of the event to complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Tanner McLoughlin, Todd Brennan, J.R. Gentry, Ryan Markham, and Rusty Schlenk.

The next event for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will be Saturday August 17 at Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, Michigan and will pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start.
