Nick Hoffman Sweeps Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels Weekend with Victory at Atomic Speedway

WAVERLY, OHIO (July 20, 2024)– The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels would finally get to make its second visit of the season to Atomic Speedway in Waverly, OH on Saturday evening and Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, NC would sweep the weekend with the series by scoring the victory and grabbing the $5,000 payday.

The victory for the 32-year-old Hoffman would his second of the season with the tour and his third career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels victory and would see him become only the second repeat winner with the series for 2024. Hoffman’s victory came behind the wheel of the Tye Twarog owned Longhorn Chassis powered by a Clements Race Engine and is sponsored by NOS Energy Drink, C&W Towing, Petroff Towing, Lonewolf Petroleum, Haulin’ Haskells, Bilstein Shocks, and Allgaier Performance Parts.

The initial start of the Valvoline A-Main would see the caution wave before a lap was scored for a multi-car tangle in turn four. The second attempted start would go green and see Nick Hoffman grab the race lead, with Adam Stricker, Henry Hornsby III, Caiden Black, and R.J. Conley giving chase. The front five remained the same as the first caution of the race waved on lap five for a spin by Chad Roush in turn one. The restart would see Hoffman maintain the lead, with Stricker and Hornsby III remaining second and third, while Conley and Seth Daniels would work past Black to take fourth and fifth. Black would challenge Daniels for fifth and retake the spot on lap seven. Conley would pressure Hornsby III for third and would take the spot on lap nine. Meanwhile, Hoffman would catch the rear of the field and was set to start working slower traffic on lap twelve, however, the caution would wave again on lap thirteen when Rusty Schlenk would slow in turn four and would be finished for the night. The restart would see Hoffman continue to hold the lead, with Stricker, Conley, and Hornsby second through fourth, with Daniels taking fifth from Black. Stricker would stay with Hoffman and would get a run on Hoffman and would make a turn two, slidejob pass of Hoffman and secure the race lead. Stricker would begin to pull away from Hoffman a bit and would start working slower traffic on lap nineteen. Stricker and Hoffman would distance themselves from the field, with the pair working heavy traffic at times and Stricker would have over a four second advantage on Hoffman on lap thirty. However, Hoffman would make a charge and begin the close in on Stricker, shaving the interval between first and second to 1.400 seconds. The final caution of the race would wave on lap thirty-eight when Devin Shiels would on the backchute as just as that happened, Stricker would have a right-rear tire come apart, causing him to pull pitside and be finished for the event. Hoffman would inherit the lead at this point and drive on to the checkered flag first, with Conley, Hornsby III, Daniels, and Black completing the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Carson Brown, Billy Green, twenty-second starting Austin Lay, Rod Conley, and Luke Morey.

The next event for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will be Saturday August 10 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH, paying $5,000 to win and $500 to start.
